Jean Elizabeth runs winning streak to eight in Whimsical S. (G3)

Adios Charlie's incredible 5-year-old mare Jean Elizabeth won her eighth consecutive start in Sunday's $125,000 Whimsical S. (G3) at Woodbine.

All eight of the wins have come in stakes, dating back to last September in the Sweet Briar Too, also at Woodbine. During the streak, Jean Elizabeth has won on turf, synthetic and traditional dirt at five different racetracks.

Like she normally does, Jean Elizabeth went right to the front in the six-furlong Whimsical. Despite carving out very quick fractions of :44.78 for the half-mile and :56.99 for five furlongs, she had plenty left to hold off Painting by a length at the wire.

The final time was 1:09.86 on the Tapeta.

“She's a rocket,” said winning jockey David Moran. “I wasn't expecting her to be that quick with her ears pricked down the back. She just pricks her ears and I think she just waits for a bit of company to go on again.”

Owned by Patricia's Hope LLC, along with her breeders Larry Rivelli and Richard Ravin, Jean Elizabeth is now 15-4-2 in 21 starts, with 10 stakes wins, and has earned $662,786.
