High Cotton filly 'Incredible' in $150K Meadow Star S.

She’s Incredible blew past the favorites in mid-stretch to win the $150,000 Meadow Star division of the Florida Sire Stakes on Saturday at Gulfstream Park by 4 1/2 lengths.

Despite coming into the race as a maiden, the 3-year-old High Cotton filly had earned respect following her two-length loss in the $150,000 Jewel Princess S. at seven furlongs a month ago over the same track.

As she did in that race the chestnut 3-year-old sat just off the pace, then kicked in high gear in the stretch, taking advantage of the extra furlong to come home a clear winner in the one mile race. The final time was 1:37 3/5 over the sloppy main track.

“I did have confidence just because she was closing last time, and it was seven-eighths, and it looked like the two favorites didn’t want to go that far,” said trainer Fernando Abreu. “She finished real good today.”
She’s Incredible, out of the Distorted Humor mare Undistorted, was bred by Centaur Farms Inc. and is owned by Our Sugar Bear Stable. She has now earned $149,590.
High Cotton is currently ranked third on the 2016 Florida General Sire list with progeny earnings of more than $2.7 million and four stakes winners. His 76 winners to date lead all active Florida stallions.
