Rol Again Dancer breaks his maiden at Monmouth Park - Bill Denver/Equi-Photo

Top-five First-Crop sire Girvin got his second maiden special weight winner of the day on Saturday when Rol Again Dancer held off all challengers to win a five-furlong contest at Monmouth Park by 1 ¼-lengths.

With five winners, including the Astoria S. winner Devious Dame, Girvin trails only Bolt d’Oro and Sharp Azteca on the freshman sire list by individual winners and is also third by progeny earnings.

Rol Again Dancer came out battling for the lead from his inside post, with No Confession pressing him through the first three furlongs. Rol Again Dancer pulled away at the top of the stretch, then held off Wasabi Boy in the final furlong to finish in :58.03 on a fast track.

The winner is owned by Carole Star Stables and Midnight Stables Inc. and was bred by Brereton Jones. The bay’s graded stakes-placed dam Tesoro de Amor is a half-sister to graded winner Mr. Livingston.
