Saturday, January 27, 2018
Ocala Stud's Grade 1-winning stallion The Big Beast was represented by his first yearlings during the Jan. 24-25 OBS Winter Mixed Sale.

The Big Beast's top yearling of the two-day sale was hip No. 564 consigned by Summerfield and went to Calumet Farm for $51,000. The Florida-bred colt is out of Let's Dance Charlie, who has two winners from as many starters. The deep female family includes Canadian champion Pennyhill Park, the stakes-winning sire Misnomer, and Grade 2-placed Join in the Dance.

The Big Beast has been one of the more popular young Florida stallions, breeding an average of 87 mares his first two years at stud. He is standing this year at Ocala Stud for a fee of $6,000 stands and nurses.
