Hickerson scored a three-length maiden win Nov. 27 to give leading Florida First-Crop sire Jess's Dream his sixth overall winner and first at Churchill Downs.
The 2-year-old colt showed a powerful kick in the final half-mile, coming from seventh place to blow past pacesetter Payster in mid-stretch to win going away.
The winner is owned by his namesake Kelly Hickerson, along with Walking L Thoroughbreds and Magdalena Racing. The bay colt was bred by Cherie Abner and Mike Bossio and is from the family of Grade 1 winner Songandaprayer.
