Adios Charlie filly triumphs in stakes return

Making her first start since November, Jean Elizabeth scored her second career stakes win in the Isaac Murphy Memorial H. Saturday at Arlington (VIDEO).

The 4-year-old Adios Charlie filly, who also won her 2018 stakes debut, is now an excellent 7-3-2 in 12 starts for V-Leaf Stables LLC, Richard Ravin and Larry Rivelli, the latter two also her breeders.

Jean Elizabeth was sharp out of the gate in the six-furlong contest, pressing Brittney On Blades through a quarter-mile of :22.30. She easily took the lead outside the quarter-mile pole, and cruised through the stretch to win by nearly four lengths.

She went the distance on the synthetic surface in a final time of 1:10.75.

“We really would have liked to get her back to the races sooner,” said Rivelli, who also trains the filly. “But the way things worked out we couldn’t get any preps in her. She’s a good horse and we’re looking forward to this year with her.”

Out of Rooney Doodle, Jean Elizabeth is a full sister to the 3-year-old colt Dugout, who has a pair of stakes wins and earned $272,495.

With nearly $1.9 million in progeny earnings to date, Adios Charlie is ranked first on Florida's 2019 General Sire list and is either first or second by stakes winners, winners and repeat winners.
