Top 10 freshman sire High Cotton adds a pair of winners

High Cotton, ranked eighth on the North American first-crop sire list, added two more maiden winners to his growing roster on Nov. 15-16. The Ocala Stud stallion is also Florida's leading freshman sire; the farm announced recently that High Cotton will stand for $5,000 in 2012.

Rock On Richie rolled to a five length win at Penn National on Nov. 15. The chestnut colt, bred in Pennsylvania by Bull Dog Racing, covered the one mile in 1:42.31. The winner earned $23,400 for owner Richard Ravin.

On Nov. 16, Happy High won his debut impressively by 6 1/4-lengths at Parx Racing. The Florida bred gelding covered the six furlongs on a muddy track in 1:13.40. Happy High is one of five winners out of Exceptional Jan, the dam of The Kaiser, winner of the Needles S. and Pete Axthelm H.
