Asia Express, Japan's champion 2-year-old of 2013

After selling four Grade 1 winners in the past five years at OBS, Ocala Stud is looking to build on that impressive record in the upcoming OBS Selected Sale of 2-year-olds in Training sale, held March 10-11 at the central Florida auction house.

Ocala Stud's latest Grade 1 winning graduate is Asia Express, a $230,000 OBS sales grad who was recently named Japan's 2013 2-year-old champion male following a win in the Grade 1 Asahi Hai Futurity S.

Ocala Stud has three colts in this year's OBS March auction, with two selling the first day and a third in the second session.

Hip No. 21 will be the first offering, a bay colt from the first crop of Discreetly Mine, winner of the Grade 1 Kings Bishop S. and a trio of other graded stakes. The bay colt is out of the stakes-placed mare Unlimited Pleasure, who is the dam of Fair Grounds Oaks (G2) and Demoiselle S. (G2) winner Unlimited Budget, as well as Jardin and Beacon Shine, both Grade 3 winners during their 2-year-old campaigns.

Another very well-bred consignment is hip No. 92, a bay colt by Congrats, who is the sire of Grade 1 winner Turbulent Descent, who Ocala Stud sold at OBS. The Florida-bred yearling is out of Broadway Gold, a stakes-winning mare who has produced Broadway's Alibi, winner of the Grade 2 Forward Gal S., and the Grade 1-placed R Gypsy Gold. The colt's third dam is champion 2-year-old filly Eliza. Broadway Gold is a half-sister to Florida Derby winner (G1) and sire Dialed In.

Hip No. 325 is by long-time Ocala Stud stallion Montbrook out of the Pentelicus mare Potluck Dinner. The top-class mare has produced seven winners to date, led by $1.1 million earner Gourmet Dinner, winner of the Delta Jackpot (G3) and three additional stakes, and the stakes winner Gaston A.

The Under Tack preview show for the sale will be held March 6-7.
