Monday, November 11, 2019
The Big Beast notched his 13th First-Crop winner Sunday at Gulfstream Park West when Quality on Tap bested Bolt by a half-length after a stretch-long duel between the 2-year-olds.

The pair essentially had a match race in the stretch, with the rest of the field nearly 20 lengths back at the wire.

Quality on Tap was making his second lifetime start for his owner/breeder Crown Thoroughbred Partnerships. The dark bay is a half-brother to four other winners out of his dam Dixie Time Thief.

With 13 winners, The Big Beast is in the top-10 on the General First-Crop Sire list, and second in Florida. He had his biggest book of mares to date, 113, in 2019, while standing for $6,000 live foal.
