A colt from the first crop of multiple graded stakes winner Prospective sold for $77,000 at the OBS Winter Mixed Sale on Jan. 27, the third-highest paid for a yearling colt during the two-day auction.

Sue Vacek, agent, consigned hip No. 89, which went to the anonymously monikered H. H., agent.

The bay colt, out of Astella, is a half-brother to the graded stakes-placed Classic Legacy. His fourth dam is a half-sister to the immortal Mr. Prospector and from the same family as 2-time Horse of the Year Chief Bearhart.

Prospective, who stands this year for $5,000 at Ocala Stud, was bred to more than 170 mares his first two years at stud.
