Piven in command in Limehouse S. win
Saturday, January 6, 2018
Prospective's second crop got off to a great start in 2018 on Jan. 6 when the 3-year-old colt Piven rolled to a four-length win in the $75,000 Limehouse S. at Gulfstream Park.

Piven was among Prospective's most accomplished winners last year, when he finished a close second in the $100,000 Colin S. at Woodbine just three weeks after breaking his maiden at first asking in mid-August.

The six-furlong Limehouse was Piven's first start on traditional dirt. After sitting midpack through three furlongs, Jose Ortiz took his mount three-wide to sweep to the lead at the top of the stretch, then won going away in 1:11.47 on the fast track.

Piven has now earned $101,346 in four starts for owner Derek Chin. He was bred in Florida by Wendy Christ and Carol Hershe and sold to Chin for $75,000 at the 2017 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale.
