Roadster tallied a pair of maiden special weight winners on Saturday afternoon, starting with Mercury Marauder at Belmont Park, then a short while later with Classic Roadster finishing out the double for his sire at Gulfstream Park.

Roadster now has 17 individual winners, second behind only Golden Pal, and ahead of other First-Crop sire such as Jackie’s Warrior, Life Is Good and Flightline.

Classic Roadster, who was second in his Sept. 26 debut, found the Gulfstream winner’s circle on Saturday with a stalk and pounce trip. The bay colt was second most of the five furlongs, getting the lead with a furlong to run, then gamely holding off the late charge of Earthly Delights to win by a neck.

The winner is owned by Jack Hendricks and was bred by Ocala Stud & J. Michael O'Farrell Jr. and is a half-brother to four-time stakes winner R Adios Jersey.
