Bye Bye J's win in Saturday's $125,000 Downthedustyroad S. at Oaklawn Park marked the first start in nine months for the 4-year-old daughter of Uncaptured.

Saturday's win marked her third stakes victory. Along with a second in last year's Forward Gal S. (G3), the chestnut filly is now 5-1-1 in nine starts and has earned $298,105 for Alex and JoAnn Lieblong.

In a heated duel for the lead right from the outset, Bye Bye J and Matapan were side by side through a half-mile in :46.60. Bye Bye J asserted herself in the final furlong to win by 1 1/4-lengths in 1:10.50 for the six panels on a fast track.

Bye Bye J was bred by McDowell Farm out of the Awesome Again mare Red Pine.
